What drawdown should I expect?
All trading involves risk and periods of drawdown are normal.
Drawdown will vary depending on:
• Market conditions.
• Risk settings.
• Account size.
• Trading pairs selected.
Lower risk settings generally result in lower drawdowns.
It is important to understand that no trading system wins every trade and periods of losses should be expected as part of long-term trading.
Only trade with money you can afford to risk.
What pairs should I trade?
Recommended trading pairs may vary depending on the EA you are using.
Each EA has been designed with specific market conditions and instruments in mind.
Please refer to the EA Academy training videos and setup guides for the latest recommended pairs and settings for your chosen EA.
Using recommended pairs will generally produce the best results.
How do I update my EA?
When a new version of an EA is released, simply download the latest version from the EA Trading Hub.
Close MT4, replace the old EA file with the new version, then restart MT4 and reload the EA onto your chart.
Always review any update notes, videos or announcements before updating.
New versions may include bug fixes, performance improvements or new features.
Do I need a VPS?
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is highly recommended for all automated trading.
A VPS allows your EA to run 24 hours a day even when your home computer is turned off.
Benefits include:
• Improved reliability.
• Faster trade execution.
• Reduced risk of missed trades.
• Ability to trade continuously.
While some users run EAs from their personal computer, a VPS provides the best experience and is recommended for serious traders.
Why does my EA say License Denied?
A License Denied message means one or more licensing requirements have not been met.
Common reasons include:
• FutureFX Access subscription is inactive.
• EA Access subscription is inactive.
• Incorrect license key entered.
• Wrong trading account number.
• The EA is not currently selected in the EA Hub.
The EA will normally display the specific reason for the license failure in the MT4 Experts tab.
If you cannot resolve the issue, contact FutureFX support.
Why am I on cooldown?
The cooldown system helps protect FutureFX software from unauthorized sharing and abuse.
After changing your selected EA or trading account, a waiting period is applied before another change can be made.
This prevents frequent switching between accounts or EAs and helps maintain the integrity of the licensing system.
Your next available change date is displayed on the EA Trading Hub page.
How do I change trading accounts?
You can change your trading account from the EA Trading Hub.
Simply enter your new account number and save your changes.
To protect the licensing system, account changes are subject to a cooldown period. Once an account change is made, you must wait until the cooldown period expires before making another change.
The next available account change date is displayed on your EA Trading Hub page.
What risk should I use?
Risk settings should always match your personal risk tolerance and account size.
For most users, FutureFX recommends starting with 1% risk per trade.
Lower risk settings generally result in smaller drawdowns and smoother account growth, while higher risk settings can increase both profits and losses.
If you are new to automated trading, start conservatively and increase risk only after gaining experience with the software.
Never use a risk level that would cause you stress if a losing streak occurs.
Why isn't my EA trading?
There are several reasons why your EA may not be trading yet.
Most importantly, the EA will only trade when its specific entry conditions are met. It is normal for an EA to wait hours or even days before placing a trade.
Check the following:
• AutoTrading is enabled in MT4.
• The EA is attached to a chart and shows a smiling face.
• Your FutureFX Access and EA Access subscriptions are active.
• Your trading account number matches the account registered in the EA Hub.
• The correct EA is selected in the EA Hub.
• Your internet connection and broker connection are active.
If everything appears correct and the EA is still not trading, contact FutureFX support.
